Tornado Rips Through Oklahoma City

Earlier today disaster struck as a vicious tornado tore through the Oklahoma suburbs. The tornado stretched as wide as a mile and reached speeds up to 200 mph. The destruction included several neighborhoods being destroyed, buildings set on fire, and a direct blow to an elementary school. Houses were destroyed, cars and trucks lay shattered on the side of the road, and at this time at least 37 people are thought to have been killed. Up to 60 people are injured, and rescue teams are frantically scrambling to help out. The National Weather Service categorized the tornado as the second most powerful type of tornado.
